I have public liability insurance and I guarantee all my work. I make sure all work is signed off by the client before going to print

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I became interested in graphic design from an early age, and started to critic all the design I saw around me, from brochure layouts to signage and poster designs. My husband and I joke about our choice in wine, he chooses the bottles with the best grape variety I choose the best label!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

One of my clients who runs a small marketing company recently needed a new logo design for one of her clients. She was so thrilled with the logo design I developed for her she paid me the next day and took me out to lunch to celebrate. That's what makes my job so rewarding.

Creativity gives me a buzz. Having my customers come back with "oh WOW that looks so good" makes my day!

How much experience does this designer have? Do they have a portfolio showing their ability to provide design solutions for projects similar to yours? Are they flexible? - can they be contacted regularly to make sure their project is progressing as planned?

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Firstly it's usually 'how much' and I would normally say it depends on your project. My standard logo design charge does not vary much at around $200. But if a customer is unsure of what he needs, there may be additional charges for providing many logo concepts until he is happy with the solution.

I have run a small business for over 10 years, but I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in my previous employment as in-house studio manager and graphic designer for a large insurance firm. I pride myself on my organisational and project management skills.

The more information you can provide the designer the more accurate the quote can be: The designer would normally ask:  Who is your market (whom do you wish to target)? When do you need the job completed? and;  Do you have a fixed budget in mind for the work?

Be clear about who your target customer is and how you wish to promote your business. Think about where do you want your logo or flyer to be seen (printed, or viewed online)? If you need a website, roughly how many pages do you envisage having?

What makes your pricing competitive?

I run a small home based studio, but I am a design professional with over 10 years experience. My hourly rate is $25 per hour - incredibly cheap right!!! My aim is to deliver the best, most creative design solution for my clients to help them grow their business.

I would initially provide the client with a detailed quote. Then upon completion I would email them an invoice for work completed.

I am an all rounder when it comes to design, logo design, t-shirt design, packaging to name a few.  But I have a passion for magazine and newsletter layout in particular.

I have a advanced diploma in Graphic Design at Distinction level i achieved when studying in Scotland.  I have over 10 years experience in the Graphic Design Industry, in the corporate and small business sector, as well as advanced skills and training in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I also have experience on web building platforms like Wix and Wordpress
