We are fully insured and guarantee both our work and your satisfaction.   When we take on a new client, we aim to have them for life.  We do that by being honest, working hard, and standing by our work each and every time.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

What kid doesn't want to drive massive Trucks, Excavators and whatever other machine they can find!  We've grown up, got a little hairier and are now hard working professionals... but we're also kids at heart!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

We had the opportunity to assist Collingwood College in building a new playground for the Junior school kids.  We worked with an army of dedicated parents armed with wheelbarrows to help move dirt and reshape the playground.  It's a fantastic community and was a great experience!

What do you like most about your job?

It's a close call between the Toys and the People!  We love hoping into the latest and greatest Excavator, Truck or Skidsteer.  But we also love finishing a job and leaving the client satisfied and promising to get us back for the next job.  It's a great feeling knowing that your clients are happy!

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Ask them to explain how they would complete the job.   When you listen to someone walk through a job step by step, it quickly becomes clear if they know exactly what they are doing, and conversely if they are unsure of what is required, and are perhaps not up to the task.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

"How long do you think it will take?"  Which is difficult to answer, however our experience generally puts our estimates within a couple of hours. "While you're here, could you also..." Whatever it is, we will try our best to get it done.  Its generally much cheaper to do it then, rather than later!

We are a family owned and operated business.  We carry our family values and behaviors into our  work place and into our relationships with our clients.  If we had to pick 3 key values, they would be: 1. Honestly 2. Reliability 3. Perseverance

We pride ourselves on our ability to get the job done, and leave our customers satisfied.    We do this by investing heavily in both our people and our machinery.  That way when you hire us, you know you get a professional who is reliable and highly skilled, and has machinery that is dependable.

Overall plan - what do you want to achieve? Volumes - how much dirt or material do you want moved? Complications - Rock, Concrete, Underground services? Stockpile or Tip - Do you want us to tip excess dirt / material? Access - How much room is there? (what size machine can we use..)

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Plan / Picture what you want to achieve and share it in detail with us and other trades Rocks, underground services and many other things can cause delays.  If you're prepared and have contingencies in place, it will dramatically reduce costs. Tight jobs take longer - clear the area in preperation

What makes your pricing competitive?

We are not the cheapest in terms of hourly rates, but we deliver the best value for money - by far!  Pant Hire companies often have low hourly rates, and their work rate when on site tends to reflects this.  We are on average 5 - 10% more expensive, however we always work hard and we always deliver!

How do you normally charge for your service?

We are flexible when it comes to charging and like to work to our clients preference.  For larger jobs, our clients often prefer a fixed quote.  For smaller to medium jobs, or those where the scope is unclear and likely to change as we progress, it's easier to work on an hourly basis.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We specialise in Small to Medium excavations and rock work.  All of our machines are fitted with heavy Duty Augers, Rock Grapples and Hammers that make them unbeatable for excavating, drilling and handling rocks.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

All of our operators have their 'tickets' for the machines they operate, have completed their White Card, and either have a minimum of 3 years of experience, or have undertaken and long term training program to ensure they are sufficiently skilled.
