How did you decide to get into your line of work?

After attending a few weddings where I was unimpressed with the Celebrants, and following a varied career mostly involving customer service, I felt it was something I could do well.  To provide a couple with a ceremony they, and their guests will remember for all the right reasons is very fulfilling.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have completed ceremonies in all sorts of places - homes, parks, reception venues, beaches, chapels and even in a tattoo parlour!  The great thing about a civil ceremony is that it can be performed any time at any place.

What do we need to do next? Complete a Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before the ceremony Provide the Celebrant with proof of place and date of birth and photo ID Think about what you want included in your ceremony and the style that suits you.

I am experienced, qualified, insured and keep up to date with any changes to the Marriage Act by attending ongoing professional development and belonging to a Celebrant Association.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

You will need to provide photo identification and identification of place and date of birth - passport is ideal, or birth certificate with another form of photo ID.  The Notice of Intended Marriage must be completed and witnessed one month before the marriage takes place.
