Not what I was after played too old music for a 21st function some music was good but overall wasn’t happy aswell as a lot of my guests feed back repliedAbsolute Class Discos DJ Hire & Wedding DJs Melbourne31 Jul 2022
Firstly, this was a VERY late booking made in mid-afternoon just 4 days before the event. It was a 21st booked by Jason, the birthday boy Josh's uncle. And only about 40 to maybe 45 adult guests turned up plus a dozen or so primary school age kids. About half the adult guests were over 40, while the other half were the birthday boy Josh's friends. So almost every song I played was a verbal request from one of the guests. Josh himself asked for pop/dance hits from 2010 onwards, so I played at least 2 hours of those, even including SEVERAL current Top 50 songs, and he also requested lots of RnB songs that get played by "The Fox" on their RnB Fridays, so I played about an hour of those. And with both the current/recent songs and the RnB, there was lots of dancing and LOTs of loud singing along. I also had several ladies over 40 come up and make requests for "classic hits" like Nutbush, I Will Survive, Jesses Girl & others. So I played a set of about 12-14 of their requests as well. Nearly every song I played was a request. And about 15 minutes before the end the birthday boy came up and thanked me, so I don't understand why his uncle is complaining. And the girl that came up with Josh asked me to play Daryl Braithwaite's "Horses" as one of the last songs, so I did. And as I was trolleying the equipment out to my van, load by load, at least 3 or 4 people said to me "Great music - thanks".Andrew

Very professional outfit run by people who clearly love their work. They aren’t the cheapest and there is some work required upfront on the playlists but it’s definitely worth it. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Thank you. repliedAbsolute Class Discos DJ Hire & Wedding DJs Melbourne23 May 2021
Thanks Luke. I had lots of fun playing the songs you and Helen chose from our Request Books. And I do understand about the amount of work there is going through them to choose songs you guys want to hear. But it's the time you guys spent choosing the songs that was a big factor in your party being such a success. As for the end of year charts in those Request Books we send you to choose from, they only list the 100 biggest songs of the year. As a 50 year old, you have lived through and remember at least 45 years of hit songs. Even just having the 100 biggest selling songs of each year to choose from in both the 1974 to 1989 book and the 1990 to 2020 book that we gave you, there are over 4,700 songs listed, so you did get LOTS of big hit songs to choose from, and so it does take a few hours. That's why I suggest at least 3 or 4 of you sit down together to choose the songs, and hopefully then you can have some fun doing it. Since 1990 when the ARIA Top 100 first started, over 300 songs actually go through the weekly Top 100 each year. Even back when Victoria had its own Top 40, then Top 50 from 1960 to 1989, over 220 songs charted each year. It really is amazing just how many songs we can all remember. If our Request Books included every song that charted in the ARIA Top 100 over the past 31 years, that comes to almost 10,000 songs plus for the Victorian Top 40/Top 50 from 1960 to 1989 there are over 6,500 more songs. So a total of 16,500 songs - that would be an impossible task. That's why we only give you the 100 biggest songs of each year. Cheers, Garry.
Frequently asked questions
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
This isn't really relevant to a DJ business. This is much more relevant for all the different tradespeople you can find on this Oneflare web-site - carpenters, plumbers, electricians, motor mechanics etc
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
There is an FAQ on our web-site that goes into some detail on several points that may be important to various different customers.
Unique selling points
We've worked for many Celebrity Clients incl. Kylie Minogue & The Spice Girls
For quality sound we play CDs. The record companies send CDs of their newest songs to our POBox because CDs give a warmer, richer sound.
So we don't play highly compressed .mp3s or .ogg files (such as Spotify)
To create real atmosphere/"gaga factor", we bring 11 proper pub/club disco lights. 95% of DJs only bring 3 or 4 cheap plastic LED lights.
Proper pub/club experienced DJs, better quality, MUCH more expensive sound equipment ($11,000) and LOTS more, MUCH better quality disco lighting and effects (about $5,000 worth).
